The first speaker will be author Frederica Mathewes-Green who will speak on "A Journey of Faith," about her years dabbling in Eastern religions before converting to Chrisianity.
Mathewes-Green's work has appeared in the Washington Post, Christianity Today, Smithsonian, the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal. She is a columnist for the web magazine Beliefnet.com. She also writes movie reviews for National Review Online and Christianity Today Movies. She has published eight books, including "Facing East: A Pilgrim's Journey into the Mysteries of Orthodoxy" (Harper
Collins, 1997) and "The Illumined Heart: The Ancient Christian Path of Transformation" (Paraclete, 2001).
She is married to Father Gregory Mathewes-Green, founding pastor of Holy Cross Orthodox Church near Baltimore.
