My Favorite Car

The car: 1985 Mercedes 500 SEL 4-door

What sparked the interest: It drives like a dream -- high in the sky with the clouds. It just rides like a limo on the freeway going to San Francisco or south to San Diego. And it's very good on gas (20 miles per gallon on the freeway).

Road to ownership: Bought it from the original owner in Stockton in 2001. Has 154,000 miles on it now and has not had any major repairs except oil changes and tune-ups.

Under the hood: A powerful V-8 automatic engine. Nice and clean -- no oil leaks!

Body of work: I tinted the windows black. It has power heated seats, cruise control and a power sun-vent. I just wash and wax it; nothing more.

A favorite memory: Parked in front of my girlfriend's house and going to Lake Tahoe.
