Funworks to host free concerts

Twelve local bands will be featured in the Modesto Sound Concert Series at Funworks in Modesto this month.

The free concerts will be held Friday nights from 7-10. at Funworks, located at the corner of Coffee and Claratina roads.

"We are thrilled about the venue because it enables local bands to be heard in a fun new setting. We approached Funworks with the idea and they agreed. They are even paying the bands!" said Brenda Francis, founder and engineer of Modesto Sound, a nonprofit recording studio.

Scheduled to perform are:

Friday: Fall of Versai, The Cottons, Casanova Fights Adonis.

Nov. 13: Josh Rosenblum, Ganna Joy, Fallen Short

Other bands expected to sign up for the concert series are: Hero's Choice, Amelia Varni and Caroline Chiesa, The Panduhs, Karen Reed, LD 50 and Danny DeLeon.
