Steven Kha, Sophmore, Pitman High School

STUDENT GOVERNMENT: I've been class President for two years at Pitman, but have been in Student Government since the 5th grade and an honor roll student ever since I can remember.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Key Club since freshman year and this year Asian Club. I love helping out my community and my peers.

FUTURE PLANS: My goal is to attend UC Berkeley to become an architectural engineer.

ACADEMIC AWARDS: Received the perfect attendance recognition for two years straight when I graduated Turlock Junior High.

OTHER AWARDS: Won the county spelling bee and placed sixth in the state spelling bee when I represented Turlock in 2007 and have been a recipient for People to People.

FAVORITE SUBJECT: My favorite subject is lunch.

FAVORITE SPORT: I used to play soccer until I was introduced to baseball at the age of 8 and have loved it ever since.

HERITAGE: My ethnicity is Cambodian, Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese and I have a great stepdad since I was 3 that is Caucasian.

SIBLINGS: I have a 16-year-old sister (Sharon) who is also at Pitman and a 6-year-old brother (Justin) in the first grade at Medeiros Elementary.

FREE TIME: On my free time, if I do have any, I'd rather play with my little brother than watch TV.

BAD HABIT: Reading puts me to sleep but I'm really trying to break the habit.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: I'm a little shy, a little sensitive, and always loyal to my friends and family.

LIFE STRATEGY: I'm always pushing myself to be the best that I can be, either in education, sports, or life itself.
