Central Valley Opportunity Center has six scholarships of $1,500 each to award to high school students in Madera, Merced and Stanislaus counties this year. Each will be awarded on a competitive basis. Students must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 and plan to attend a post-secondary educational institution in the fall. Ducks Unlimited dinner
Atwater Ducks Unlimited’s annual banquet is today at 4 p.m. at the Atwater Community Center, 760 E. Bellevue Road. Tickets are $60 for an individual, $85 per couple, $35 for Green Wing (youth members), $480 for a corporate table and $900 for a gun table. This includes annual membership, hat and dinner. Day of Prayers
Church Women United will have its annual World Day of Prayers on March 7 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the First Church of Christ Holiness USA, 509 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. “Streams in the Desert” is the theme. Tacky Bingo at arts center
