The Coroner’s Office on Monday released the names of two men who died in separate solo vehicle crashes in Stanislaus County on Saturday.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the first crash at 5a.m. near the San Joaquin River at Bradbury and Crows Landing roads.
Angel Roberto Lopez, 24, was driving at a high speed west on Bradbury in a Nissan Altima when he left the roadway at the intersection, according to the CHP.
Lopez, a Stevinson resident, was not wearing a seat belt when his Nissan struck a power pole and overturned into a field. He was ejected and died at the scene, according to the CHP.
The second crash occurred eight hours later on Highway 99 north of Kiernan Avenue.
Rudy Anthony Torres, 25, of Stockton was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on the highway when he passed on the right side of a vehicle traveling in the fast lane.
As Torres maneuvered back into the fast lane, he lost control and traveled into the center median, striking a guard rail and then a warning sign, according to the CHP.
Torres was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in northbound lanes, where he died.
