Residents in Merced County will have access to free prostate screenings Saturday at the Mercy Cancer Center.
The center is at 3850 G Street, at the corner of G Street and Mercy Avenue.
The screenings, which will only consist of a blood test, will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Atwater Knights of Columbus in partnership with the Mercy Cancer Center, an affiliate of the UC Davis Cancer Care Network.
June Brown, director of the Mercy Cancer Center, said the event is not only to create awareness, but also an opportunity for men who don’t regularly get prostate screenings to get screened.
