The Merced County Community Action Agency said that it sponsors a karaoke party at the Atwater Cherish site on the third Tuesday of each month.
Seniors 60 and over are entertained with music from bygone eras and a few of the newer songs. Songs are performed by volunteers who are a part of the group.
The monthly karaoke party is held from 10 a.m. to noon and is one of the many activities that are provided to Atwater seniors in addition to being served a hot lunch. Bingo, special speakers, table games, musical entertainment, health discussions and more can be found on the calendar each month and offer opportunities to socialize, make friends and be entertained.
The group meets Monday through Friday in the Fellowship Hall of the United Methodist Church at 2550 Linden Ave. Lunch is served those days for a suggested donation of $2 for seniors who are 60 and over and must be ordered the day before by calling April at (209) 358-0681.
