Atwater police are on the lookout following a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit-and-run crash that injured two boys Tuesday night.
The incident was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Bellevue Road near Secretariat Drive, according to Detective Armando Echevarria.
Police responded to the scene and found the victims, a 12-year-old and 13-year-old, with injuries. One of the teens was lying on the sidewalk, while the other was in the road, Echevarria said.
Details of the crash remain sketchy. A witness reported a black car, possibly a Honda, was traveling westbound on Bellevue Road and swerved, striking the boys. Echevarria said questions remain about the exact location of where the boys were positioned when the crash happened.
