OAKDALE -- It took the Oakdale girls basketball team a little over two quarters to figure out the Livingston press on Monday night.
Once it did, it never looked back.
Oakdale got its fastbreak working in the third quarter and broke open a close game with a 21-12 run.
Livingston never challenged from there in a 64-48 loss in a Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoff play-in game.
Oakdale (19-8) advances to take on top-seeded St. Mary's in Stockton tonight.
"We had every opportunity to win," said Livingston assistant coach Suzy Holtgren, filling in for head coach Luciana Lacey. "They didn't really have any fastbreak to speak of in the first half, but they kind of exploded in the third quarter.
"The girls got a little tired and Oakdale put it away."
Livingston (19-9) trailed by just five at intermission thanks to the play of Maria Flores.
Despite giving away size to the bigger Oakdale frontcourt, Flores had 21 points.
Unfortunately for Livingston, Oakdale countered with a pair of dynamic guards.
Cassandra Clark led all scorers with 24 points and Carley Barton added 16. Tara Lao had nine points for Livingston and Carina Arteaga chipped in seven.
"The girls never gave up," Holtgren said. "We were able to create a lot of second and third chances, but we just couldn't knock down shots tonight."
