Did you know to produce each week's Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down and by recycling the print run of a single issue of the New York Times you would spare 75,000 trees? Before now you probably didn't care to think about it. Recycling is a large issue that goes beyond newspapers.
It reaches out to aluminum, plastics, glass, yard clippings and solid waste. If more people cared to recycle it would cut down pollution, reduce need for land fills, reduce energy consumption and most importantly reduce litter. To better our city and lives more recycling bins should be put out making it easier for people to recycle on a daily basis. Recycling is as simple as tying your shoe. Why recycle? Why not?
