Melting Arctic Sea ice, the extinction of species and disastrous weather are all effects of global warming. The world has succumbed to this deadly threat and we have not learned enough to confront the cause. The climate is changing faster than most animals can adapt.
Walruses and polar bears are just a few of the several animals who are victims of global warming. The melting sea ice caused these animals to migrate, suffer nutritionally and physically. According to the National Geographic, in a recent NASA study, the extent of Arctic Sea ice has declined about 10 percent in the last 30 years. If this continues, our ecosystems and wildlife will desist and the world will perish.
On Dec. 26, 2004, Southeast Asia endured a colossal tsunami which destroyed homes and killed 230,000 people. Scientists believe that this was not only because the Australian and Eurasian plates were converging, but it was also a cause done by global warming.
We can help our world by using fluorescent light bulbs, solar power, wind power and recycling. These simple actions can save money and lives.
