Over two years, $65 millions and hundreds of thousands man hours later, the Modesto City Schools has a new school, Enochs, beautifully constructed and in a wonderful location. For the past several years, Grace M. Davis High School has been overpopulated with over 3,000 students. Though building plans say Davis can house 3,000 students, other records show that max capacity at Davis was just over 2,100.
I've played sports at Davis and I can't count how many times I've sprained my ankle on the fields there. I've seen more holes in those fields that most golfers do in the PGA tour. Aside from safety, since MCS doesn't tend to think that's a big issue here at Davis, our fields don't even look nice.
Maybe before the head honchos over there in their air conditioned offices (oh thanks, by the way, the air conditioning at Davis is great, even though it took you more than 30 years to do it) build a new school to rid themselves of problems, they should try to fix the problems with the schools that already exist.
