TURLOCK — A new zerolot-line housing development, AvalonLuxuryHomes,will have its grand opening Friday.
The 26-home project near CaliforniaStateUniversity, Stanislaus, is being built by the WM Development Group.
"Ratherthanannexing farmland into the city, we have found existingpropertywithincity limits, and developed as many homes as possible to maximize land use by providing a product that is as close to being a singlefamily home as possible without being detached," said Adrian Eshagh, who runs the company.
"The project's close proximity to the university, shopping and the freeway offer the urban living experience in the heart of Turlock," Eshagh said.
Unlike typical town houses or condominiums, Avalon homes don't share walls, rooflines or underground utilities. They are separated from each other by a four-inch gap and two firewalls, and they have different exterior colors.
Three floor plans are being built,rangingfrom1,507to 1,897square feet. All have two stories and two-car garages.
Because there's little space between homes, the lots are only 1,062 to 1,375 square feet.
The base price will range from $294,777 to $326,747, and sales will start Friday. When fully occupied, the homeowner association dues are expected to be about $131 per month.
The development will have a swimming pool and barbecue area.
The first Avalon homes are expected to be ready to occupy in mid-August.
