A shooting Sunday in south Modesto left one person injured and three detained for possible charges, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department reported.
It responded to a call at about 5:30 p.m. from the 3600 block of Crows Landing Road, said Deputy Royjindar Singh, a department spokesman. The unidentified victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
A sheriff's helicopter happened to be flying in the area and spotted a pickup truck leaving the scene, Singh said. The helicopter and deputies on the ground followed the truck, which was determined to be stolen, to the 6100 block of Carpenter Road, he said.
One person was detained where the pickup was pulled over and the other two were found in a nearby house, Singh said. As of 9:30 p.m., deputies were still trying to determine what role the three might have had in the shooting and truck theft, he said.
