Public Works of San Joaquin County announced recently that the largest concrete pour for the eastern half of the new McHenry Avenue Bridge (over Stanislaus River) was successfully completed on Nov. 2. The contractor also began construction work on the McHenry Avenue Bridge over South San Joaquin Irrigation District’s (SSJID) canal near Meyers Road. Work within the canal is limited from Oct. 15 to Feb. 15, because the irrigation district supplies water to its customers during the other months. Approximately 20 percent of the work is complete and the project is still on schedule for completion in mid-2020, Public Works of San Joaquin County said.
