The woman has been identified as Gloria Wescott of Atwater, according to the Coroner’s Office.

Officers responded to the scene near Business Parkway and found the victim lying in the median, according to Officer Moises Onsurez, CHP spokesman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both eastbound lanes of Santa Fe Drive and one westbound lane were closed for about two hours Wednesday morning because of the crash.

CHP is asking anyone with information about the crash to call Officer Brian Carr at (209) 356-2969. Tips are kept confidential and you can remain anonymous.
