Races will open Kiddieland

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced will kick off the opening of Kiddieland with the Race to the Kiddieland Train, a 2-mile walk/run and a 5-mile run from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Applegate Park. T-shirts will be available, and the proceeds will go to Kiwanis projects. Kiddieland opens for the season Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 to 5p.m. on Sundays. Rodeo Dance

The La Grange Rodeo Dance will start at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oakdale Rodeo Grounds, 1624 East F St. in Oakdale. The band Never 2 Late will play from 8 p.m. to midnight. $10 cover charge and you must be 21 and older to attend. Call (209) 853-2128.
