Building materials sale
DELHI The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8327 will hold a building materials sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 9799 Stephens St., Delhi. Merchandise is priced at 25 cents on the dollar and includes everything from lawn and garden items to electrical gear. For more information, go to www.vfwlivingston.com. The Merced College High School Math Competition will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Merced College. The competition is open to teams from local high schools and is designed to challenge students with an extensive knowledge of algebra and geometry. For more information, call (209) 384-6353.
Trail ride and dinner
LAKE DON PEDRO The Don Pedro Rattlers 4-H Club’s second annual Lucky Clover Trail Ride and Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner will take place Sunday. Cost is $25 per person and includes dinner, which can be purchased separately for $10. Riders can participate in a poker run if they wish. Pre-sale tickets are available. The Elks Park Pancake Breakfast will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the park. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children; includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice and coffee. Bloody marys and screwdrivers will also be available. All proceeds go to support the Elks Park.
Trust fund disbursement
The Merced City Council will disburse funds from the Wahnetta Hall Trust Fund to establish and maintain a mini-train system and/or a band concert program in Applegate Park. The application deadline is Monday. Nonprofit organizations interested should submit their request letters to Mike Conway, Director, Office of Recreation, 678 W. 18th St., Merced, 95340. Alzheimer’s support group
LOS BANOS The Los Banos Alzhiemer’s Support Group meets at noon Wednesday at Country Waffle, 845 W. Pacheco Blvd., Los Banos.
