The city of Livingston will hold its annual lighted Christmas Parade and Gift Fair on Friday, and organizers say it will be an evening filled with Christmas carols, entertainment and holiday goodies.

The event heralds the holiday season with a parade of lighted floats, cars and music, according to Livingston Police Chief Ruben Chavez.

This year’s parade theme is “Feliz Navidad.”

“It’s very festive and lots of members of the community come out to support it,” Chavez said. “Last year, it was my first parade here in Livingston, and it really has that hometown feel.”

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Main and D Streets in Livingston. There will be food, drinks and shopping at boutiques. Christmas carolers will sing at 6:30 p.m. and the parade will follow at 7:30. The parade will begin at Memorial Park and end at D Street.
