SPCA Holiday Home Tour
Four decorated homes as well as Vista Ranch and Cellars will be on the Merced SPCA’s annual Holiday Home Tour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8. Gift baskets and raffle prizes including a bicycle and a diamond necklace will be at Vista Ranch. Christian center speaker
Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, Aglow will have Frances Schneider speak. The event will include Christmas music and fellowship. Bring a small exchange gift under $5 and a snack to share. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Dec. 7 at Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave.
Help with codependency
CoDA is a 12-step program that enables codependent people to have healthy, loving relationships. The group meets from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 500 Buena Vista Drive in the First Baptist Church administration building.
Winton pancake breakfast
WINTON The volunteer fire department will hold its annual pancake breakfast 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Winton Community Hall, 7091 Walnut Ave. Prices are $7 for adults and $4 children ages 6-12. Children 5 years old and younger eat for free.
Ladies VFW breakfast
ATWATER The Ladies Auxiliary of the Atwater VFW will hold its monthly breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, serving waffles with strawberries and cream or biscuits with sausage gravy. Other menu options include eggs cooked to order, bacon or sausage, hash browns, biscuits, and omelets. Juice and coffee served with all meals. A $4 to $6 donation is required. The breakfast will be at 1390 Broadway Ave. Proceeds benefit veterans programs.
Gordo Fest will take place from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday at the Merced County Fairgrounds inside Yosemite Hall, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Presale tickets for all ages are $10, or $15 at the door. Visit Gordo Fest 2013 via Facebook. The event will include 12 acts, food, drinks and vendors. Manuel “Gordo” Chavez passed away a year ago, and proceeds will go to a music scholarship in his name.
