A motorcyclist is in critical condition after running into a sport utility vehicle that pulled into his path, pinning him under the vehicle, in central Modesto on Wednesday, Modesto police reported.
He was traveling east on Orangeburg Avenue about 10:46 a.m. when a woman driving north in an Isuzu Rodeo pulled in front of him at Del Vale Avenue, according to police.
The motorcyclist ran into the driver’s side door and became pinned underneath the SUV. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he reportedly is in critical condition.
Police are investigating whether the motorcyclist was speeding or if the woman failed to yield to him as she attempted to cross Orangeburg.
Orangeburg was closed between Carver Road and Kearney Avenue for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
There is no indication drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The investigation is continuing.
