Lee Lor appointed to Merced County Fair Board

Lee Lor, 31, of Merced, has been appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown to the 35th District Agricultural Association, Merced County Fair Board.
Lor has been community liaison and assistant to the superintendent at the Merced County Superintendent of Schools Office since 2012 and an independent consultant since 2011, according to a press release from the governor’s office.
She was a domestic violence and sexual assault advocate at the Merced Valley Crisis Center from 2010 to 2011 and held multiple positions at the Merced County Office of Education from 2004 to 2011, including executive secretary and secretary. Lor was a youth accountability board social investigator at the Merced County Probation Office from 2005 to 2006.
She is a member of the Merced Lao Family Community Inc. board of directors and the Mercy Medical Center Merced Community Advisory Committee. Lor earned a master of business administration degree from California State University, Fresno.
The position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lor is a Democrat.
