Rain and wind today in the valley

Rain and wind today should disappear by tomorrow, giving way to dry, warmer weather through the weekend and into next week, the National Weather Service in Hanford reported.
“We’ve had some thunderstorms in the valley, around Merced and the Chowchilla area, and some snow higher up above 9,000 feet,” meteorologist Jim Bagnall said.
Forecasters called for rain showers in the valley through tonight with temperatures reaching the upper 60s.
Winds around the central valley are expected to peak around 20 mph. However, in part of the southern valley, winds could reach around 50 mph, meteorologists predicted.
Temperatures the rest of the week should reach the upper 70s with lows in the upper 40s.
“After today, it should warm up through next week,” Bagnall said.
