Name: Kelly Story
Synopsis: Just before 9 p.m., two men driving on Julian Street near Grant Street argued with a group of men standing in the area. Police said the car drove off, then returned and struck Story, 40, and a 37-year-old man. Story died at a local hospital while receiving treatment. The second man was released from the hospital the next morning.
Motivation: Police say an argument sparked the violence. There appeared to be two males in the sedan, but no further description has been released. The car, a dark-blue or dark-green sedan, was described as similar to a Dodge or Plymouth Neon. The car may have sustained front-end damage when it struck the two men.
Authorities ask anyone with information about this homicide to call Detective Brandon Bertram at 668-5550, ext. 6623, or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Tipsters can e-mail tips on the Crime Stoppers Web site, or text them to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
