Homicides in Stanislaus County: an interactive map of killings since 2006

How to use the map

For a short video tutorial on how to use the map, click here.

Click on any city along the top edge to zoom in on your area. To see the whole county, click "Stanislaus County" on the top left. Click on any icon on the map to learn more about each case.

Select boxes on the left to limit the homicides you see to certain years, genders, races or other factors. The gray bar next to your selection explains how many cases fall into that category. Races are color coded, and age is indicated by the small bar alongside each icon.

Curious about the open cases? Click "Open" under "Status." Wondering about how many people died from gunfire? Click "Shooting." To uncheck all the checked boxes, just select "Uncheck All."

To find a specific victim, scroll below the map for the list of all the county’s homicides back to 2006. Sort by name, date, agency or other factors, by clicking on the section heading. Click the small gray box to the left of the victim’s name to see the victim’s page. Click the red box or the victim’s name to locate the victim on the map.
