A Modesto Junior College instructor and former Ripon reserve police officer was arrested this morning on suspicion of molesting two friends of his teenage daughter, police said.

Frank Drummond, 41, was arrested at the Modesto Junior College campus, where he teaches administration of justice courses.

Drummond recently resigned from his job as a reserve officer with the Ripon Police Department. Drummond worked previously as a police officer in Modesto and Patterson.

Police say Drummond sexually molested two girls, 13 and 15. Police believe Drummond molested the girls at his home in the 900 block of Wellesley Avenue. Police believe the girls were molested separately this month. Officers were called to investigate the suspected molestation on Saturday night. The investigation continued throughout the week, ending with Drummond's arrest.

Drummond was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on charges of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under the age of 14 and lewd and lascivious acts with a 14- or 15-year-old minor. Both charges are felonies. Drummond's bail was set at $75,000.

Drummond was honored in 2003 as a distinguished faculty member at Modesto Junior College.

Officials with the Yosemite Community College District said most of the courses he taught were online. His courses at MJC were taught at the east campus on College Avenue.
