5 Things To Do This Week

Grab a good seat for the 140th annual Modesto Fourth of July Parade. This year’s Modesto Kiwanis Club event, themed “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave,” will have some 125 entries, including marching bands, floats, performers and more. The parade moves from 10th and F streets to J Street, then up 11th Street and back to I Street to 17th Street. Surrounding cities also have events planned, with fireworks scheduled at dusk in Turlock at the Stanislaus County Fairground, Oakdale at Woodward Reservoir, Ripon at Mistlin Sports Park, Gustine at the high school football field, Atwater at Castle Airport and others.
