“Man of La Mancha”
Modesto Performing Arts brings the classic musical “Man of La Mancha” to life for its final weekend. The production stars veteran Merced actor Curtis Nelson as Don Quixote, Modesto actress Krista Joy Serpa as his love interest, Aldonza, and Elk Grove actor Donn Bradley as Quixote’s loyal servant, Sancho Panza. The play-within-a-play set during the time of the Spanish Inquisition features the popular number “The Impossible Dream.”

Sierra Rep open house
Sierra Repertory Theatre will open its doors for an all-access open house. The free, behind-the-scenes glimpse of the theater company will be in its East Sonora theater. Visitors can take part in informal tours and Q&A sessions with staff and crew. The scene, prop and costume shops, as well as the “Pump Boys and Dinettes” stage, will be open for a special look at how Sierra Rep creates the different worlds it portrays in its productions.

Rod & Custom Car Show
Enjoy the final weekend of Graffiti Summer events with the seventh annual Rod & Custom Car Show. The event will feature classic and custom hot rods, music and food. A breakfast will benefit the Modesto Elks. Proceeds from show registration will benefit the Modesto Elks and Alzheimer’s Foundation. While this is the last of the monthlong Graffiti Summer events, A&W Root Beer in downtown Modesto and the Velvet Creamery on McHenry Avenue will continue with their weekly Graffiti events through the rest of the summer.

Arts on 10th Street
Leadership Modesto is throwing a block party, and everyone is invited. The Celebrating the Arts on 10th Street event will raise funds for the 10th Art Block project. The event will include music, art and food vendors lining the sidewalks. The project is a collaboration with the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Improvement District, Stanislaus Alliance, city of Modesto and Modesto Convention and Visitors Bureau to bring a dedicated art space to the downtown area. The event is free; donations to the project will be accepted on site.

Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee
Get into the swing of things at the 65th annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee. The event celebrates the logging industry with a parade, carnival rides, games, music, arm wrestling, a hot dog eating contest and tug-of-war. The logging exhibition will include ax throwing, cross cutting and more.

Hilmar Dairy Festival
