Roman Loranc exhibit
Polish-born photographer Roman Loranc will be celebrated as part of the Carnegie Arts Center Distinguished Artist series.
The artist, who lived in Modesto for more than 20 years and photographed the Central Valley extensively, will have a retrospective exhibit of his work Thursday at the Turlock gallery at 250 N. Broadway. The opening reception is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 31.
Loranc’s images are part of the California landscape tradition of Ansel Adams, whose family has praised Loranc’s work recently.
The exhibit includes more than 60 photographs, including many images of the Central Valley and some from his travels through Europe. It closes March 23. General admission is $5. Call (209) 632-5761 or visit www.carnegieartsturlock.org.
