Modesto and Ripon set up DUI patrols

Officers from the Modesto Police Department's DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying officers on a saturation patrol this weekend to crack down on drunk driving.

The Ripon Police Department plans a similar DUI saturation patrol for Saturday night. Modesto's "zero tolerance" patrol is expected to run Friday and Saturday nights.

The department is funding the patrols through a state grant from the Office of Traffic Safety.
