Two men who were shot in Riverbank on Tuesday night were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Stanislaus County Undersheriff Bill Heyne.
Deputies responded to reports of shots fired at 10:40 p.m. at a house in the 3700 block of Kentucky Avenue. When they arrived, they found the victims, one shot in the thigh and the other in the buttocks. Both were taken to area hospitals.
Heyne said the gunman is Latino and that the shooting was gang-related, adding that one of the victims told deputies he was a member of the Sureño gang.
