Police are looking for a woman who was involved in a car crash near downtown Modesto this morning, then fled the scene.

The collisions involving two cars and a bus near the corner of College Avenue and Needham Street sent two people to the hospital, according to Sgt. Brian Findlen, spokesman for the Modesto Police Department.

Just after 10 a.m., a Stanislaus Regional Transit bus with several people on board on College was stopped at Needham when a Silver Saturn hit it from behind. Seconds later, the Saturn was struck from behind by a burgundy Chevy Tahoe.

The driver of the Chevy, described by Findlen as a white woman with blonde hair and a ponytail, fled the scene.

The driver of the Saturn, along with a man in his 60s who was on the bus, complained of pain and were taken to an area hospital, Findlen said.

There were no other injuries. The most violent of the collisions occurred when the Saturn struck the bus, Findlen said.

Findlen did not know exactly how many people were on the bus. The roadway was cleared of the crash by 11:35 a.m. For video from the scene, scroll down the page.
