The second teenage suspect in the beating and carjacking of a 60-year-old female Turlock foster care facility worker was arrested Friday in Fresno, the Turlock Police Department reported.
The Fresno County Probation Department was alerted to the suspect's whereabouts by family members, and he was taken into custody, Turlock police Sgt. Nino Amirfar said. The other suspect was arrested Wednesday morning in Fresno.
The assault and carjacking took place in 1100 block of Tuolumne Road on Monday. The woman was treated at a hospital for bruises, abrasions and a broken rib and was released from the hospital, police have said. Her car was recovered in Fresno.
The two suspects were acquaintances in Fresno County before being placed at the residential facility, Amirfar said. The suspects face charges of carjacking, felony battery and false imprisonment, all felonies, Amirfar said.
