A parolee and suspected gang member who has had numerous contacts with authorities was sentenced to 26 years in prison for robbing a man and stealing his car on March 6, 2008, according to a statement from the Stanislaus County district attorney's office.
Victor Camarena, 26, of Keyes was spotted riding in the stolen car a few days after the carjacking. He was arrested after a short chase when a woman who was driving collided with another car.
He pleaded guilty to robbery with the use of a gun, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and evading arrest.
