Wife of Merced sheriff's sergeant allegedly embezzles $832k

Kimberly Sziraki, 44, was taken into custody by Merced County District Attorney’s Office investigators, after a nine-month investigation into accusations that she embezzled the funds from Central Valley Processing Acquisition Corp., 4315 East Childs Ave., according to Pat Lunney, chief investigator for the DA’s office. MERCED -- A nut processing plant manager whose husband is a sheriff's sergeant was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of embezzling $832,000 from her employer.

Killer in '88 Patterson case waives parole hearing

A Patterson man convicted of shooting his wife during an argument almost 21 years ago waived his right to a parole hearing and will stay in prison at least five more years, the district attorney's office announced Wednesday.
