Bailey is not sick and, according to Martha, has never been sick. But about a year ago, the 9-year-old chow chow developed multiple lumps in various areas on her body. She had some under her neck and in front of her shoulders, and Martha recalls some on the dog's back legs as well. About two weeks after Martha noticed the lumps, they had disappeared. Now Bailey's lumps have returned.
Penny is a 10-year-old cocker spaniel who has had her share of ear problems. Pat isn't sure if Penny is having a problem now, but she is noticing a new behavior. Penny is rubbing the left side of her face on the carpet, and she's started to do it more frequently.
Ear infections are easily treated but, even with attention, can become severe, chronic and debilitating.
