I am looking for a cake recipe that I believe I saw in a women's magazine recently. It called for three 8-inch round layers of yellow or vanilla cake, possibly from a cake mix. I remember a fruit spread my mother made from peaches (or pears or sometimes cherries) that she called preserves. The fruit was cut into slices, and they were tender but slightly chewy. The juices around the slices were thick and very sweet. This was wonderful on toast or on biscuits. I'd love to have the recipe.
