Mike Serpa is right: MID is badly managed

Modesto Irrigation District power rates should be 30 percent less than Pacific Gas & Electric's, as they have been in the past. PG&E pays stockholder dividends and its full share of taxes and operates under the same regulations as MID, plus a few more.

MID, a public entity, has no stockholders and practically no taxes. It is only through bad management that its rates are so high. Mountain House is just one good example.

Vote for Mike Serpa. He is truly trying to reduce our electricity bills! The new, more accurate, automated meters installed this year are just another back-door rate hike.
