A teacher at Isabelle Jackson Elementary School is under investigation by district officials for allegedly including "inappropriate images" on a classroom DVD given to students on the last day of school, according to the Elk Grove Unified School District.

The female teacher, whose name isn't being released, distributed the DVD retrospective of class activity Friday, the last day of school, said Torrey Johnson, district spokeswoman.

Johnson would not say which grade the teacher taught or what kind of "inappropriate images" the DVD contained.

Call The Bee's Stan Oklobdzija, (916) 321-1041. The Bee's Diana Lambert contributed to this report.

The following day, a parent contacted the teacher, advising her of the images, Johnson said.

The teacher then called all the parents of her 24-student class and told them to destroy the DVD, Johnson said.

On Tuesday, the district followed with a letter to the parents of the teacher's class, Johnson said.

The letter sent to parents by Isabelle Jackson principal Martin Fine asks parents who haven't destroyed the DVD to return it to the school.

"Please note that no copies should be made or distributed as it is a violation of privacy rights," Fine wrote.

The incident is under investigation, Johnson said, and thus no word on the teacher's status at the school was available. Johnson did say that the inclusion of the images appears to have been inadvertent.
