Is it time for Modesto to have a park named after Martin Luther King, Jr.?

Is it time for Modesto to name a park after the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? About a half dozen people think so and asked the City Council this week to change Mellis Park and its King-Kennedy Memorial Center in honor of King. But another speaker said the park is the city’s only public recognition of Greek American’s contributions to Modesto.
