Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen's response to Gov. Jerry Brown's budget veto ("Area state legislators react to budget veto," June 17, Page A-11) attempts to portray her as a champion of education and public safety, but the facts tell a different story.

Every so often The Bee prints an article that should be hung on everyone's refrigerator. Victor Davis Hanson wrote such a column which appeared March 18 (Page A-9). The article may not be as powerful as the Gettysburg address, but nevertheless inspired me to write this letter.
