The Modesto City Council on Wednesday voted 7-0 to:

• Award a $131,669 contract to Bay Cities Automatic Gates of San Carlos to buy and install seven parking machines at city-operated lots

• Buy three police dogs for $22,600

• Sign a five-year lease agreement with Stanislaus County for Stanislaus Regional Transit to use the Modesto Transportation Center. The county will pay the city $25,000 the first year, with a 3 percent increase each year after that.

The following item was removed from the agenda:

• Approving a $50,000 contract with Holmes International of Sacramento to help the city develop a program to reduce the amount of fats, oils and grease discharged into the sewer system
