SIRS LUNCHEON MEETING

When: Today, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: The Seasons, 945 McHenry Ave.

Info: Sons In Retirement Inc. local Branch 103, a nonprofit club for retired men, is holding a monthly luncheon meeting to provide club members an opportunity to meet old friends; discuss issues of local and national interest; and plan participation in various scheduled activities, such as golf, bowling, fishing and travel, which are offered to members.

AUTISM MEETING

Info: Join Autism Speaks for a discussion of all aspects of the Autism Walk that will be held in October at the Modesto Junior College West Campus. CHILD SAFETY SEAT CHECKS

Where: Newman Fire Department, 1162 N St.

Info: The Modesto Police Department will combine efforts with personnel from other Stanislaus County law enforcement and fire agencies to conduct free child safety seat checks. Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to have a free child safety seat check may schedule an appointment by contacting the Modesto Police Department at 572-9500.

MOTORCYCLE POKER RUN

When: Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Starting point is Eagles Nest Harley-Davidson, 13900 Harlan Road, Lathrop; ending point is Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto

Info: Hundreds of motorcycles are set to take part in a 100-mile poker run through the Sierra foothills and return to Modesto in a benefit for Modesto-based Community Hospice and Stockton-based Hospice of San Joaquin. This eighth annual event will include more than 400 bikers, a celebratory barbecue, music and a raffle. The registration fee is $30 and includes a commemorative T-shirt, poker hand, food and drink. LAVENDER LUNCHEON AND GARDEN PARTY

When: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: Lavender Hollow Farm, 22244 McBride Ave.

Info: Join the Central Valley Democratic Club, female Democratic officials and a special guest at a Lavender Luncheon and garden party. The event will include a best garden hat contest.
