CARWASH FUND-RAISER

WHEN: Today, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
WHERE: CitiBank, 2000 Geer Road
INFO: A Day of Hope, a program of Associated Students Inc. at California State University, Stanislaus, that delivers baskets of food and turkeys to needy families for Thanksgiving, is holding a carwash fund-raiser. Over four years, volunteers have given out 699 baskets of food and turkeys, feeding more than 3,100 people. Carwashes are held on the first and third Saturdays of the month. FREE BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS

WHEN: Tuesday, 10 to 11 a.m.
WHERE: Emanuel Medical Center, 825 Delbon Ave.
INFO: Retired nurse members of Emanuel Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary will offer blood pressure checks in the Education Training Room East Wing. No reservations are required or fee charged. For more information, call the Education Department at 664-2580.

CHILD SAFETY SEAT HELP

WHERE: Adjacent to Patterson Aquatic Center, 1025 W. Las Palmas Ave.
INFO: The Modesto Police Department, along with personnel from other Stanislaus County law enforcement and fire agencies, is conducting free child safety seat checks. Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to have a free child safety seat check can schedule an appointment by calling the Modesto Police Department at 572-9500.

Jamestown

FATHER'S DAY TRAIN RIDES

WHEN: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Railtown 1897 State Historic Park
INFO: Railtown 1897 plans to recognize Father's Day with a special offer for dads and their families. This day only, all fathers accompanied by one or more children can ride Railtown's regular trains for free. Trains depart hourly for a six-mile, 40-minute round-trip ride through the foothills. Tickets are $8, adults; $3, children ages 6-17; free for ages 5 and under. For more information, call 984-3953.
