WEEKLONG DAY CAMPS

INFO: A lineup of day camps for kids ages 5 to 11 are available from Modesto Junior College Community Education. The camps are designed to inspire and energize. A variety of themes are offered, including arts and crafts, science, dance, music, cooking, photography, theatre, etiquette and more. There are 10 camps to choose from. Tuolumne County

PINECREST LAKE FISH FAIR

WHEN: Saturday, 7 a.m. to noon
WHERE: Pinecrest Lake
INFO: Children as old as 16 can take part in this free event, which features fishing and casting contests, lessons on fishing ethics and ecology, storytelling and more. Participants must be accompanied by adults and bring their own gear; those who are 16 must have fishing licenses. They can register at the Pinecrest Amphitheater from 7 to 9 a.m. and fish until 11 a.m. A hot dog lunch will follow, free to registered kids and $3 for others.
