I am a freshman at Davis High School, and I am concerned about the number of teachers who will be laid off because of the budget cuts. Because of these cuts, our classes will have so many students that we won't be able to have individual attention. Also, students won't be able to get the classes they need to graduate. And because summer school has also been cut, some students will have to go an extra year or just not graduate.

As a current student within the Modesto City Schools, I am saddened by the lack of accountability and responsibility of our state and local governments. Now, because of their fiscal mismanagement, students must suffer the consequences by losing valuable programs such as athletics and music, as well as decent educators.
