What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I have considered running for school board for the past 5 years. Turlock Unified is a great school district that has an opportunity for improvement. Having been a part of the 5-Year Strategic Planning committee I have decided I would like to be part of the �Team� when it becomes a Premier Educational Institution. Having been in the community my entire life, I have crossed paths with many diverse groups and would like to see every child have the ability to find their niche.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

The most important priority once I am elected will be to bring more vocational programs to the schools. With the current economic situation it is becoming more difficult for students to attend college. If they can learn a trade during high school they will be better prepared upon graduation for immediate employment.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

I have been active with my children�s education and have been involved with many of the programs (athletics and clubs) within the school district. I will be able to use this experience I have developed to better serve the needs of the students and teachers. I am also a 2nd generation graduate of Turlock School District and my children are 4th generation graduates.
