Trevor Mew has learned plenty during his three years as the starting quarterback in coach Tim Garcia's passing offense, and it's showing this season.

"He has learned the system inside and out," said Garcia, whose senior has completed 77 percent of his passes for a section-high 2,136 yards. "He checks the protections and makes audibles on the line of scrimmage depending on the alignment of the defense. Taking what the defense gives him has been the big reason for his success."

Mew was 21 of 25 for 318 yards and 3 TDs in a 30-10 win over East Union 30-10, giving him 20 TD passes and just four interceptions. He's thrown for at least 300 yards in five of his seven games.

"Trevor has the attitude and passion to want to be the best, which carries over on Friday nights," Garcia said. "He is able to anticipate what is going to happen before it really does."
