WAC Roundup: Central Catholic rolls up 60 points to top Orestimba

NEWMAN -- On a night of blowouts throughout the Stanislaus District, Central Catholic did its part with a 60-6 victory over Orestimba on Friday night.

Dylan Swartz threw only six passes, but three of them were turned into touchdowns. Two of those throws went to Billy Flamion, who scored from 4 and 8 yards out. The other TD toss went to Dusty Killion.

Meanwhile, Craig Jones rushed for 132 yards, including touchdown runs of 32 and 44 yards for the Raiders (7-1 overall, 3-0 in the Western Athletic Conference). Central is the top-ranked school in The Bee's small-school rankings.

The Warriors are 4-4 and 0-3.

HILMAR 49, GUSTINE 20, at Hilmar -- Isaac Diaz had touchdowns rushing, receiving and passing, while brother Carlos rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 73 yards and another score in the Yellowjackets' (7-1, 2-1 WAC) victory over the Redskins (1-7, 0-3).

Isaac Diaz caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Quinton McCown, ran 52 yards for another score and completed a 70-yard scoring strike to Daniel Greenleaf for Hilmar, The Bee's No. 4 small-school team. Carlos Diaz had a 1-yard scoring run and caught a 31-yard TD pass from McCown.
